There is going to be a big change in the coaching staff of the Indian cricket team. Assistant coach Ryan ten Deutsche has resigned from his post. After him, fielding coach T Dilip has also been removed from Team India. This new update has come out just before the Sri Lanka Test series, which is starting from August 15.
Talking about fielding coach T Dilip, his tenure ended in May 2025, but his tenure was temporarily extended. Let us remind you that recently there was very poor fielding by the Indian team in the T20 series against Zimbabwe.
10 catches dropped, fielding coach eliminated
India had defeated Zimbabwe 3-0 in the T20 series, but Indian fielders dropped a lot of catches in this series. Indian fielders dropped a total of 10 catches in this series and especially in the last T20 played on July 26, even wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan was seen dropping catches. The removal of fielding coach T Dilip immediately after that is not a shocking matter. T Dilip took over as the fielding coach of the Indian team in the year 2021. During this period he worked with head coaches Rahul Dravid and Gautam Gambhir.
Who will become the new fielding coach?
Reports believe that Shubhadeep Ghosh is the frontrunner in the race to become the new fielding coach of the Indian cricket team. Ghosh has previously worked with the Indian women’s cricket team and India-A team.
The next challenge before the Indian team is from Sri Lanka. The 2 test match series will start from 15th August. The first match will be played in Galle from 15th August, while the second match is to be played in Colombo from 23rd August.
