The first test match between Pakistan and West Indies is being played in Trinidad. In this match, West Indies has set a target of 211 runs for Pakistan team in the fourth innings. Meanwhile, Justin Greaves of West Indies has come into the limelight because he has made a world record which has never happened in the 150 years of Test cricket history.
Justin Greaves bowled 5 consecutive maiden overs in a test match and took one wicket in each over. He is the first bowler in the world to do so. Before him, Stuart Broad had made the record of taking four wickets in four consecutive maiden overs. Broad had achieved this feat against South Africa in 2016, but Justin Greaves has broken his record after 10 years.
West Indies had scored 311 runs in the first innings, in reply Pakistan, after a great start, had scored 244 runs at the loss of 3 wickets. Then the Pakistani batting went flying in the storm named Justin Greaves.
Justin Greaves’s streak of bowling maiden overs and taking wickets started in the 64th over, when he clean bowled centurion Shan Masood at the score of 109. After that he maidened the next 4 overs of the spell and took the wickets of Aamir Jamal, Ali Usman, Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Abbas respectively in each over.
If we look at the match, West Indies had gained a lead of 29 runs in the first innings. The Caribbean team scored 181 runs in the second innings. On the basis of lead in the first innings, West Indies set a target of 211 runs for Pakistan.
