Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday (July 28) claimed that no question paper has been leaked in Punjab during the 4.5 years of his government’s tenure. He alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying to defame Punjabis for its political gains.

After meeting Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in the Parliament complex, Bhagwant Mann said that BJP is making ‘false allegations’ about the question paper leak to defame Punjabis. Along with this he warned that BJP will have to pay a heavy price for this.

‘BJP should stop defaming Punjabis’

According to the report of news agency PTI, during his visit to Parliament House, Bhagwant Mann also met some opposition MPs, including Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav. The Chief Minister said the BJP should ‘stop defaming Punjabis’ for political gains and instead fight a political battle with them.

Claim of medical exam paper being leaked

BJP, Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) have alleged that the medical examination question paper was leaked in Punjab and demanded the resignation of the state education minister. Assembly elections are to be held in Punjab early next year. Bhagwant Mann accused BJP, Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal of trying to tarnish the image of Punjab and its hardworking youth through false allegations of question paper leak.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said his government has provided 69,000 government jobs purely on the basis of merit without any recommendations and question paper leaks. He said, “The beauty of democracy is that people keep meeting and talking to each other. It is natural for ideologies to differ in politics and this will always be the case.
