Naseem claims that after his father’s death in 2000, neither Amitabh Bachchan came to pay his last respects nor did Jaya Bachchan call him to inquire about the well-being of the family. Meanwhile, actor Rishi Kapoor reached his house early in the morning and burst into tears.
Amitabh Bachchan did not come home after Mukri’s death
In an interview given to Vicky Lalwani, Naseem spoke openly about the relationship between his father Mukri and Amitabh Bachchan. When he was asked whether Amitabh Bachchan maintained relations with the family after Mukri’s death, he clearly denied. Naseem told that during his struggling days, Amitabh Bachchan often used to visit his father Mukri’s house. At that time, he lived in actor Mehmood’s house with his younger brother Anwar, but with time everything changed and after Mukri’s death, Amitabh never came to his house.

Friendship in films is like this…
Naseem said, ‘Film friendship is like this. As long as your pairing is a hit, be it hero-heroine, comedian or villain, friendship lasts. But when the work is over, people don’t even ask who you are. When Naseem was asked whether Amitabh Bachchan had attended his father’s funeral, he clearly replied, ‘No.’
Jaya Bachchan did not ask about your well-being
Naseem told that Jaya Bachchan was also a good friend of his father. Both of them had worked together in the film ‘Piya Ka Ghar’. He said that during outdoor shooting at that time, the entire unit lived like a family. Despite this, after the death of her father, Jaya Bachchan neither came home nor did she call to inquire about the well-being of the family. However, Naseem also said that at that time the family was immersed in grief, so they were not paying attention to who came and who did not.
Rishi Kapoor was crying like a child
In the same interview, Naseem told that when Rishi Kapoor got the news of his father Mukri’s demise, he wept bitterly. He said, ‘Rishi Kapoor had seen the news of father’s demise on TV at around 2 o’clock in the night. The next day at around 7 in the morning our house bell rang. When we opened the door, Rishi Kapoor was standing in front. He was crying bitterly like a child. Papa had worked with him in many films, so Rishi Kapoor was unable to bear the grief of his departure.
Mukri said goodbye to the world in 2000
Let us tell you that Mukri died of a heart attack in Mumbai in the year 2000. He was 78 years old. He had created a distinct identity in Hindi cinema with his brilliant comic acting. In his long career, he worked in many memorable films like ‘Mother India’, ‘Bombay to Goa’, ‘Laawaris’, ‘Sharabi’, ‘Coolie’ and ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’.
