Controversy continues over the action of security forces during the student protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar over the NEET paper leak. Meanwhile, Director General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Gyanendra Pratap Singh has given a big statement to boost the morale of his soldiers and officers. He has said that he himself is ready to take responsibility for the decisions taken by the soldiers while on duty.
Addressing the investiture ceremony of CRPF, Gyanendra Pratap Singh told the soldiers that he wants to assure them that whether they are posted in an operational battalion or in a law and order maintenance unit, he himself will take responsibility for whatever decisions are taken in the national interest, public interest and the interest of the force. He told the soldiers to continue doing their work without any fear. He said that wherever there is a need to fix accountability, he will accept the responsibility as Director General of CRPF.

Role of Rapid Action Force of CRPF
According to an earlier report, CRPF Headquarters had sent a message to all its field units appreciating the patience and restraint shown by the soldiers during the recent deployments. However, CRPF also clarified that if there is any deliberate negligence or violation of law at any level, then disciplinary action will be taken as per rules. The role of CRPF’s Rapid Action Force (RAF) is also in discussion in this entire matter. Questions have been raised over the actions of the RAF to control the crowd at Jantar Mantar and other areas of Delhi during the Parliament march called by the Cockroach Janata Party on July 20. RAF is a special unit of CRPF, which was formed in the year 1992 to deal with situations like riots and public unrest.
Deployment of security forces during Parliament march
During the Parliament march held on July 20, thousands of protesters had gathered in Jantar Mantar and its surrounding areas. According to reports, the crowd had reached near the Parliament House. After this, police and security forces used force to disperse the crowd. During this, lathicharge was done and tear gas shells were also released. Many videos related to the incident went viral on social media, in which questions were raised regarding the action taken against students and protesters. Many students also alleged that pellet guns were used against them.
