With the start of counselling, students who qualify NEET will get the opportunity to choose the college of their choice to study MBBS. Similarly, every year lakhs of students appear for NEET examination for admission in MBBS, BDS and other medical colleges. To clear NEET, students study day and night.

Success in NEET does not depend on any one subject, rather the rank is decided on the basis of some marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. However, these three subjects also require different amounts of hard work. In such a situation, let us tell you today that whether you work hard in which subject – Physics, Chemistry or Biology – you get a good rank in NEET.

Highest weightage for biology

NEET exam is of total 720 marks. In this, 45-45 questions are asked from Physics and Chemistry, which have a total of 180-180 marks. Whereas 90 questions are asked in Biology including Botany and Zoology, for which 360 marks are allotted. That means half of the entire paper is of Biology only. This is the reason why a good score in this subject has a big impact on the rank of the candidates.

Does just one subject decide the rank?

According to experts, the rank of NEET is not decided by any one subject. The final rank is prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in all three subjects. However, if the total marks of two candidates are equal then the marks of Biology are considered first in tie breaking. After this, priority is given to the marks of Chemistry and Physics. If there is a tie even after this, the candidate with fewer wrong answers gets preference.

Physics can also become a game changer

Although Biology has the highest weightage, Physics is considered to be the toughest level of the exam. In this subject, good understanding of concepts, numericals and time management is necessary. This proves to be the most challenging part for many students. In such a situation, people who perform better in Physics can get a big advantage in ranking. Many former NEET toppers also say that Physics played the biggest role in their success. According to him, if the level of question paper remains difficult in the coming years, then a strong hold on Physics can help students in getting better rank and preferred medical college.

Chemistry is also the basis of strong score

Chemistry is considered a balanced and relatively scoring subject of NEET. In this, questions are asked from Physical, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry. Students with regular practice and good understanding of the concepts can perform consistently well in this subject. Many experts believe that chemistry plays a big role in keeping the overall score stable.
