During the hearing in the Supreme Court, lawyer Vrinda Grover said that metal pellets were used there, not rubber. This type of use of metal pallets should be stopped. On this, the Supreme Court said that we are not refusing to consider but a proper petition should be filed. Apart from this, Chief Justice Surya Kant said that we are also going to make a protocol.
Mention of police action in Ramlila Maidan
Apart from this, the court also cited the police action in Ramlila Maidan. He also said that during the British era, there was a rule to shoot in the chest in case of emergency, but now the situation is different. On the other hand, on this matter, the lawyer said that we did not see any mention of the use of pellet guns in the manual of Delhi Police.
Lawyer Vrinda Grover said that we are confident that the government will not want to use pellets on young students. On this the Supreme Court said that miscreants had also entered there. All circumstances have to be seen. In response to this, the lawyer said that the order given to the police should come on record. It was also said that the records should be kept safe. The Supreme Court has issued notice on the petition. Apart from this, the court has sought answers from the central government regarding the SOP on the use of pellet guns.
