Some recent studies have shown that the collision of comets may have a widespread impact on the Earth’s atmosphere. These can affect the atmosphere of the planets, especially those planets that revolve around the M-Dwarf stars. These results have not only increased the understanding of the creation of planets, but also raised hopes to identify the remote world.

The study is so important because it expresses the possibility that small icy comets can also deliver water and oxygen to other planets. If this is the case, then life may be present on any other astronomical body outside the earth, or outside our solar system. Tidely locked planets are planets whose time for their stars and rotation time on the axis are the same, due to which these planets always roam on one side of the stars.

Researchers simulation of 2.5 km long icy comet that collides with Earth in a type of atmosphere simulation. The results were that with such effects, they can also change the chemistry of the atmosphere. Water vapor with hydrogen or oxygen -rich molecules may increase, but ozone level may decrease by about 10%. According to Astrophysical Journal, such changes can be seen with the help of current space telescope.

Esteroid’s effect of hitting the earth
Scientists also discovered what happens if any such asteroid collides with the earth. Researchers at the IBS Center for Climate Physics simulating the effects of Bennu type Estroid on Earth on 6 February 2025. The experiment showed that millions of dust particles can enter the atmosphere due to such effects. This can reduce the global temperature by about 4 ° C and reduce the ozone level by 32%.
