Tension is at its peak these days between India and Pakistan. Through Operation Sindoor, India has given a message to eliminate terrorism from the roots by directly attacking the bases of terror. Furious with this retaliation, Pakistan tried to attack the residential areas of India and attack with rockets, but the Indian Army once again proved these attacks by giving a befitting reply that it is a new India which does not end directly.
Meanwhile, an important meeting is going to be held regarding the security and technical strength of the country. The Defense Minister will soon meet Dr. Sameer V. Kamat, head of DRDO (Defense Research and Development Organization). This meeting is considered very important in terms of security matters.
Who is Dr. Sameer V. Kamat?
Dr. Sameer Kamat took over on 26 August 2022 as Chairman of DRDO and Secretary of Defense Research and Development Department. He did B.Tech (Honors) in Metalurgical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur in 1985 and then completed PHD in Material Science and Engineering from Ohio State University, USA. In the year 1989, he started work as a scientist in DRDO.
Important contribution to defense technology
Dr. Kamat has played an important role in many state -of -the -art defense projects that strengthen the security of the country. These include strong steel for naval ships, titanium for aeroinjan and radome material for missile systems. Apart from this, they have also worked on security shields and stealth technology for soldiers and military vehicles.
He has also developed the anti-tortured system, autonomous underwater vehicle and fuel cell based submarine technology for the Navy. More than 180 of his research has been published in international journals.
Honors and achievements
Dr. Kamat has received the special alumni award of IIT Kharagpur for his contribution, Metalster of the Year of the Ministry of Steel and the Scientist of the Year Award for DRDO. He is also a Fellow of INAE and IEI.
