Jammu kashmir news: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday visited the areas affected by the military struggle between India and Pakistan and came to know the condition of the people. He also said that the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan is the will of the people living on the border, not the demand of TV anchors in remote cities.
Talking to reporters during the visit of the shelling, CM Omar Abdullah said that the local people have suffered financial loss, but thankfully there was no loss of life and property. He said that the district administration is currently assessing the loss and compensation will be given after the completion of the assessment.
He said, “We will complete the assessment of the loss on Tuesday or Wednesday. Whatever compensation will be given, we will give.” He said that community bunkers were built earlier, but they were not used for a long time. He said, “New bunkers have not been created for many years. People are now demanding personal bunkers”.
Omar Abdullah said that the government has a policy and we will prepare a plan for those living near the limit and the Line of Control. He said that the state government will also talk to the central government on this issue. CM Omar said that people of the border areas want the ceasefire to continue.
He said, “Some TV anchors sitting far away in Noida and Mumbai do not like the ceasefire. The people living near the Line of Control want the ceasefire to remain a break.” Regarding compensation rules, he said that shops are not eligible for compensation under SDRF rules.
He said, “Special package will be required. It is not just about Karnah. There are other areas like Uri, Rajouri and Poonch where people need help.”
