India Pakistan News: The Indian Army said on Thursday (15 May 2025) that there was a conversation between the two DGMOs to reduce tension on the border and it was agreed. It was told by the army that efforts will continue from both sides. At the same time, Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that the ceasefire between India and Pakistan has been extended till May 18.
It is worth noting that after negotiations between the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan on May 10, 2025, both sides have agreed to reduce tension on the border and reduce vigilance.
It was agreed to maintain ceasefire three first
The DGMO of India-Pakistan had a dialogue last time on 12 May, in which it was agreed to maintain the ceasefire to prevent all military actions. Pakistan said that it would not fire a single bullet from across the border. It has been said in the talks that both sides should not fire a single bullet. No aggressive and hostile action should be initiated against each other.
According to the army, it was agreed that both sides i.e. India and Pakistan should consider immediate measures to ensure a decrease in the number of soldiers from borders and advance areas. This conversation, which took place after firing and air strikes from both sides, was very important.
Pakistan had proposed ceasefire
Pakistan’s successful retaliation in Operation Sindoor was defeated by Pakistan. After falling badly in this battle, Pakistan proposed a ceasefire in front of India on 10 May 2025, which India accepted on its own terms. India’s DGMO Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai attended this military level talks with Pakistan. Pakistan was represented by DGMO Major General Kashif Abdullah.
On 22 April, 26 innocent tourists were killed by Pakistan-backed militants in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. After this terrorist attack, the Indian Army targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) under Operation Sindoor, killing more than a hundred terrorists.
