Hyderabad fire: 17 people were killed in a fierce fire in a building on Sunday (May 18) at Gulzar House near Charminar in Hyderabad. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed condolences on the incident and directed the senior officials to take all necessary steps to save the people trapped in the building.

PM Modi has also expressed grief over this incident. Also, compensation has been announced to the families of the deceased. PM Modi tweeted and wrote that I am deeply saddened by the death of people in the fire incident in Hyderabad, Telangana. I have condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I wish the injured to recover soon. The families of each deceased will be given an ex -gratia amount of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. The injured will be given Rs 50,000.

According to an official of the fire department, the fire was reported at around 6:30 in the morning, after which firefighters reached the spot. He told that many people met unconscious and they were admitted to hospitals. After visiting the spot, Union Minister Kishan Reddy told reporters, ‘Police have told that eight people died in the fire incident, but only the officials concerned will confirm it. He told that some children are also included in the dead.

What did AIMIM MLA tell?

A MLA from All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, who was present at the scene, told reporters that according to the preliminary report, about 20 people have been admitted to the hospital. According to an official release issued from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), instructions have been given to immediately reach the hospital and ensure proper treatment.
