Mallikarjun kharge attack on jp nadda: In Karnataka, politics is being done fiercely about Muslim quota. He claimed that the Congress is giving reservation on the basis of religion which is completely false. BJP is the party that is making laws on the basis of religion. We have never given reservation to anyone on the basis of religion. Our leaders Sardar Patel and Pandit Nehru never touched the issue in the Constituent Assembly, but the BJP is raising this issue to hide its corruption.

What is the matter?

According to news agency PTI, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar had recently suggested to change the constitution to provide reservation to Muslims in government contracts. The issue resonated in Parliament on Monday (March 24, 2025) and the ruling BJP questioned the idea and demanded the removal of Shivkumar.

What did Mallikarjun Kharge say?

He said, ‘There is no leader on our side to change the constitution nor will anyone further. Such claims are always made on their behalf.

What did Kiren Rijiju say?

Earlier, Reijizu said in the House that a senior Congress leader, who holds a constitutional post, has said that his party will change the constitution to give reservation to Muslims. Although Reijizu did not mention the name of the leader, he was indirectly referring to Shivkumar. The minister said, “We cannot take such a statement lightly.” He said that this comment is not of an ordinary leader but a person sitting in constitutional post.
