Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Friday (May 23, 2025) targeted US President Donald Trump for taking a credit for a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. He said that in this case, no formal process of arbitration was made nor anything like this happened in this case.
Shashi Tharoor said that the government informed the global leaders about the action taken by India against Pakistan and the foreign ministers of many countries were also informed about this action.
‘No formal process of mediation took place’
The Congress MP said that you are very well aware of the attitude of our government. During any crisis, those countries are always contacted who call and contact. We have taken the same path everywhere. There has been no formal process of arbitration, nor was any request for this.
Tharoor’s stance on Trump’s claim
He said that if you call me, then I tell you what I am doing and why I am doing it. This has also happened in this way. If you want to go and tell this to someone else and they result in some special consequences as a result, is it called mediation? I do not think so.
Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said that if any crisis is going on, then we talk to any person in a very creative way. Whenever our Foreign Minister used to talk to another foreign minister, he used to tell it on his Twitter (X) account.
Significantly, the all -party delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor is going to America to highlight Pakistan -sponsored terrorism. These include TDP leader GM Harish Balayogi, BJP leader Shashank Mani Tripathi, Bhubaneswar Kalita, Shiv Sena leader Milind Deora, BJP MP Tejashwi Surya and former diplomat Taranjit Sandhu.
