Delhi University (DU) is moving forward with another important educational initiative. From the new academic session 2025-26, DU is going to study nuclear medicine technology to military personnel. Under this, a three -year special course called BSC Nuclear Medicine Technology will be started at Army Hospital in Delhi Cantt, which will also include an internship of one year. This course was cleared in the 1275th meeting of DU’s Executive Council on Friday.
The objective of this course is to train personnel of Armed Forces Medical Services Indian Medical Services in the field of nuclear medicine so that they can work closely with doctors and handle the responsibilities related to this technique. Admission to this course will be available to those military personnel who have completed at least 6 years of service, which have good service records and who have secured at least 50% marks in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biology/Botany/Zoology and English in 12th.
Tribute to martyrs
At the beginning of the meeting, Vice Chancellor Prof. A tribute was paid to the martyrs in the Pahalgam terror attack under the chairmanship of Yogesh Singh. After this, the university also passed a proposal to support Operation Sindoor of the Government of India. Many other important decisions were also taken in the meeting. Rules to decide the seniority of teachers were also approved. Now if the merit of two teachers is the same, then seniority will be fixed on the basis of age. If the age is also the same, then the decision will be taken through the API score. Some members objected to this rule, but the council passed them.

Apart from this, MA course has also been approved in journalism, which will be taught in Hindi and English departments. The way of its start with the inauguration of the studio in the southern campus has been cleared. DU Registrar Dr. Vikas Gupta said that under the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), students will now be given a certificate, diploma or degree even after leaving the course in the middle, which has made education more flexible and adapted to students.
