If you are apprehending or thinking of doing it in a company or institute, then this news can bring a smile on your face. Now the monthly salary that is available while doing apprentice is being increased by up to 36%. This will not only benefit the youth financially, but will also increase dedication during their training.
The amount of stipend will increase
This recommendation has been made in the 38th meeting of the Central Apprenticeship Council (CAC). The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State for the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). In this meeting, the increase in the stipe received under the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) and the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) was approved.
Now students who used to get an amount ranging from Rs 5,000 to 9,000 earlier, will now get a stipend from Rs 6,800 to Rs 12,300. That is, the youth will get more money directly every month, so that they will be able to run their own expenses during their training.
Why was this decision taken?
The purpose of this increase is not just to increase money, but this step has been taken to make the apprenticeship more attractive. Till now many youth leave in the middle of training because they do not get enough stipend instead of work. But now this increased salary will inspire them to complete training. This benefit will be available to both technical and non-technical students.
What is an apprenticeship?
Apprenticeship is an on-job training, in which youth learn by working in a company or organization. This gives them real work experience and also increases the chances of getting jobs in future. During this time they also get a fixed stipend.
Type of apprenticeship
Trade Apprentice (ITI and 10th pass)
Graduate apprentice (graduate student)
Technician diploma apprentice (diploma holder)
