Afghanistan Earthquake: Earthquake tremors were felt in Afghanistan on Sunday (2025 of June 8) in the morning. According to the National Center for Sisamology, the intensity of the earthquake on the Richter scale was measured 3.8. The center of the earthquake is being told 10 km inside the ground, which could have proved to be quite dangerous.
According to NCS, the intensity of the earthquake in Afghanistan on 8 June was 3.8 magnitude. Even though its intensity is low, its center was so on the upper surface that it caused a big danger to buildings.

Why do earthquakes occur in Afghanistan?
The Hindu Kush mountain range, which extends in the north-eastern region of Afghanistan. It is considered a tectonic terms highly active area. This area is the center of conflict of Indian and Eurasian plates. Due to the frequent mutual contact and conflict of these plates, geological tension arises here which eventually comes in the form of earthquake. According to the reports of Red Cross, there are hundreds of seismic incidents in these areas of Afghanistan every year. Such areas have a dense net of fault lines, which is a cause of concern for the future.
Herat fault line of Afghanistan is considered particularly sensitive. This line passes through the western part of Afghanistan and has historically given birth to many major earthquakes. This fault line explains the boundaries between the Indian plate and the Eurasian plate. Geologists believe that whenever the pressure between these plates reaches its peak, that energy is freed through a fault line – which shakes the land surface.
