A terrible fire spread in the forests of the southeastern region of South Korea on Tuesday (25 March). The South Korea Minister of Justice said that the fierce fire in the forests of Endong city has also affected thousands of prisoners of local jails. Due to this fire, about 2,600 prisoners have been transferred to other places from 4 jails of Cheongsagg County. At the same time, special disaster officers have declared all the affected counties as “special disaster areas”.

Officials from Endong City and other southeastern cities and local towns have ordered to vacate the area affected by the fire of local citizens on Tuesday (March 25) and go to a safe place. Fire fighters are struggling to extinguish the fire due to strong and dry winds.

The city of South Korea is home to Haho Lok Village from 14th to 15th century, which is a world heritage site of UNESCO. The official said that the fire in the forest in this area is currently about 10 kilometers (6 mi) from Haho.
