This violation of democracy- Gehlot
Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that taking Poonia and Chaudhary into custody while taking the exam is unfair and against democracy. He wrote on the X handle, “Youth Congress President and MLA Abhimanyu Poonia and Nirmal Chaudhary taking the exam are unjust and a violation of democracy.”
He further wrote, “The BJP government did not even listen to the family of Dr. Rakesh Vishnoi and when these public representatives staged a sit-in demonstration with them, they have filed a case on them. The public representatives have the right to raise their voice in the public interest. The state government should release them without delay.”

At the same time, Jaipur Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Tejaswani Gautam said that in the year 2022, a case was registered at Gandhi Nagar police station under various sections of Indian Penal Cion. Gautam also told that Nirmal Chaudhary is also accused of misbehaving with the then police officer of Gandhi Nagar police station.
He said, “Nirmal Chaudhary was detained today after the investigating officer’s report and then arrested.” He was detained from the Rajasthan University campus on Saturday morning, where he went to take the exam. Along with him, Sangaria MLA and Youth Congress state president Abhimanyu Poonia was also present in the university with him. He was also taken to Gandhi Nagar police station. However, the police said that Poonia has not been taken into custody.

It is worth noting that Rakesh Chaudhary, a resident of SN Medical College, Jodhpur, allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison. He was taken from Jodhpur to SMS Hospital in Jaipur, where he died on Sunday night. Nirmal Chaudhary, Abhimanyu Poonia and others staged a sit -in outside the fronts of SMS Hospital and demanded action against him, accusing a senior doctor of SN Medical College of harassing Dr. Rakesh.
