UP News International Potato Center will be set in agra

Up news: The Bharatiya Janata Party -led National Democratic Alliance government at the Center has given a big gift to Uttar Pradesh. This gift has been received by Agra (Agra News) district in the state. This information was given by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. On the proposals passed in the cabinet meeting, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that an international potato center will be set up in Agra at a cost of Rs 111 crore. This potato center will be built on 10 hectares of land.

In the context of the potato center, information was given by Vaishnav through a presentation. It was said in the presentation – India is the second largest potato producing state in the world. Uttar Pradesh is the largest potato producing state. The regional center of the International Potato Center will be set up in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Research at the regional center will focus on seed production, insect management, sustainable production and training to farmers.

Proposal pass on emergency
Vaishnav said that this will help farmers to adopt global best practices and improve yield. The UP government has transferred 10 hectares of land free of cost. The Government of India will provide financial assistance of Rs 111.5 crore, the UP government will coordinate with other international bodies.

Earlier, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav read the proposal passed on completion of 50 years of Emergency. He said – The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Modi resolved to remember and honor the sacrifice of countless persons who bravely opposed his efforts to destroy the emergency and the spirit of the Indian Constitution. In today’s meeting of the Union Cabinet, two minutes of silence were kept as a tribute to those who were stripped of constitutionally guaranteed democratic rights and who had to face unimaginable magnitude again.
