Raj thackeray uddhav thackeray: A new political equation seems to be emerging in Maharashtra. Former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray are going to appear together on the political platform. Its core has Marathi identity.

Actually, the Thackeray brothers allege that the Maharashtra government is imposing Hindi. Devendra Fadnavis government recently issued an order, in which there was talk of teaching Hindi as a third language from class one to five in Marathi and English language schools. Political parties opened a front against this triple order.

According to the new education policy, the Maharashtra government has kept Hindi as the third language in government schools in Maharashtra. The government has also given an option that if twenty children in a class want to read another language instead of Hindi, then they will be taught the same language. The opposition parties of Maharashtra are calling this decision a conspiracy to end the Marathi language.

Raj Thackeray called

In protest against this, Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray will now take out a front. Earlier, Uddhav Thackeray was about to take out a front in Mumbai on July 6 and Raj Thackeray on 7 July, but Raj Thackeray called and objected to taking out separate fronts. After which it was agreed to remove the front on 5 July. Now both brothers will together take out a front on 5 July.

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut gave official information about the decision of both brothers. On Friday (June 27), he posted two separate posts about both brothers and shared photos. In a post, Sanjay Raut said, “Jai Maharashtra! Another united march will be taken out against compulsory Hindi in schools in Maharashtra. Thackeray is the brand! “

Increased political mercury

This announcement has also increased the tension of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) along with the ruling Mahayuti. The biggest reason for this is the solidarity of both brothers. Actually, civic elections are going to be held in Maharashtra in the coming time. If the two brothers come together, then the form of both the existing big alliance will change.

Raj Thackeray was with BJP in the Lok Sabha elections held last year. However, he fielded candidates in the assembly elections. He did not get much success in this. Uddhav Thackeray is with Congress and Sharad Pawar’s NCP (SP). So the question arises that if there is an alliance in the party of Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray, will the Congress-NCP (SP) contest and contest elections?

Why the Thackeray brothers need politics and new alliance?
Raj Thackeray is the nephew of Bal Thackeray, the founder of Shiv Sena and was a long active leader in the Shiv Sena. Raj Thackeray, under the leadership of Bal Thackeray, was once seen as a young leader and successor in the party, but after handing over the command of Shiv Sena to Uddhav Thackeray, Raj Thackeray began to feel isolated.

The internal politics of Uddhav vs Raj inside the Shiv Sena came out openly. Raj Thackeray wanted him to take charge of the Shiv Sena, as he had a strong hold on the issue of youth and Marathi identity.

Bal Thackeray chose Uddhav Thackeray as the party’s heir. Raj got angry with this. Raj Thackeray had a dream of creating his own political identity. He wanted a new politics to be created on the issue of Marathi Manush which was based on his own leadership ability.

Raj Thackeray made MNS in 2006

Raj Thackeray, angry with Uddhav Thackeray, resigned from Shiv Sena on 27 November 2005 and formed Maharashtra Navnirman Sena on 9 March 2006.

The main agenda of the party was: Marathi Asmita, priority in jobs to the youth of Maharashtra, opposition to North Indians (in the early stages) and “anti -Sonia Gandhi” politics. 20 years after this tussle, Shiv Sena Uddhav faction and MNS Raj Thackeray are coming together.

Raj Thackeray won 13 seats in the 2009 assembly elections. After this, it was reduced to 1 seat in 2014. MNS did not open an account in 2009 and 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

MNS did not contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, but campaigned against the BJP. However, after this, he came close to BJP.

MNS condition in civic elections
MNS did not have any special performance in the municipal elections held between 2014 and 2019. MNS, who contested 21 out of 27 corporations, won only 26 seats out of a total of 2,736 seats and its total vote share was 3.56%. At the same time, in the municipal elections held from 2009 to 2014, MNS won 162 seats out of total 2,543 seats and its total vote share was 12.43%.

Talking about BMC only, in 2012, MNS won 27 seats out of 227. In 2017, he won 07 seats. MNS has also been influenced in cities like Thane, Kalyan, Pune and Nashik.

At the same time, Shiv Sena UBT has a strong political basis in Maharashtra. Shiv Sena has dominated the BMC elections for a long time. In the 2012-2017 elections, Shiv Sena won the most seats and made its mayor. Now Shiv Sena is divided into two groups. A section is with Eknath Shinde.

Uddhav Thackeray does not want to lose the metropolitan municipality elections in Mumbai and hence the factor of victory is playing Marathi Manush card. At the same time, there is not a single MP and a single MLA of MNS today. The only corporator (councilor) of Mumbai also left.

Stir in Shinde camp

There is a stir in Shinde camp with Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray. Sources said on 27 June (Friday) that Eknath Shinde has immediately called a meeting of the National Executive. The next strategy and appointments will be discussed. Eknath Shinde called an executive meeting on 30 June.

Shiv Sena spokesperson Krishna Hegde of Shinde faction said that if the two brothers come together, we do not have any objection. But Marathi Manush has seen what Uddava Thackeray did for the Marathi society for 40 years. Marathi was declared as aristocratic language by PM Modi. Uddhav Thackeray left his agenda and is with the Congress.

In the assembly elections, the Shinde faction, along with the BJP-NCP, gave a big blow to the Uddhav faction. It is believed that Shiv Sena voter has shifted to Shinde. It is believed that now Shinde faction may get a shock due to coming with the Thackeray brothers.

What did BJP say?

However, BJP believes that coming with both brothers will not have any significant impact. Recently, the BJP conducted an internal survey to join the two brothers. After this, a leader told the news agency PTI that even in areas with traditional Marathi voter base, BJP’s support is stable. The survey shows that the alliance between the Thackeray brothers will not affect the party’s seat number.

According to the survey, Uddhav Thackeray’s influence in Mumbai decreased after partition in Shiv Sena in 2022. Eknath Shinde, about half of the party’s corporator, joined the group. He said that Raj Thackeray’s influence is considered limited.

BJP leader Ashish Shelar said on Friday (June 27) that anyone can come together, this is their right. Our role is clear about Marathi that Marathi is an essential language and Hindi is an alternative language.
