India Origin Cricketer Keshav Maharaj to Captain South Africa Against Zimbabwe: The two -match Test series will start from tomorrow i.e. 28 June between South Africa and Zimbabwe. The first match will be played at the Queen Sports Club of Bulavio. Tamba Bavuma has not been included in the team for this series. South Africa won the World Test Championship 2025 title under the captaincy of Bavuma. However, now Keshav Maharaj of Indian origin has been made captain in his place.

According to media reports, Keshav’s ancestors were from Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh. He moved to South Africa in the year 1874. Even after being born in Durban in South Africa, Keshav is connected to the roots of his country. He is a devotee of Lord Hunman. Keshav celebrates all the festivals of India like every Indian.

South Africa announced team for the first Test

Apart from Bavuma, senior players like Aidan Markram, Ryan Ricelton, Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Angidi are not part of this series. All these players have been given rest. In his place, many young players have been given a chance in the team. Which includes the names of Dewald Brevis, Luan de Pretorians and Quen Mafa.
