Vishnu deo sai news: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai took a review meeting of the Department of Commercial Taxes (GST) at Mahanadi Bhawan, Ministry today. He obtained information about the functions and revenue collection of the department and instructed to work on measures to increase tax collection.

Chief Minister Sai said that the amount of tax is used in the development works of the country and the state, so everyone should pay honestly. CM said that strict action should be taken against those who steal tax (GST) and ensure that tax should be ensured from them.

During the meeting, officials said that in the financial year 2024-25, the state received a total tax revenue of Rs 23,448 crore from GST and VAT, which is 38% of the total tax revenue of the state. Chhattisgarh has achieved 18% GST growth rate, which is the highest in the country.

Finance and Commercial Tax (GST) Minister OP Chaudhary shared departmental information in the meeting. Chief Minister Sai appreciated the efforts made by the department for GST collection and said that continuous efforts should be made to increase the collection as per the rules. He also discussed in detail the cases of tax evasion with departmental officers and measures to deal with them.

Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai directed to take strict action against those taking unfair advantage using fake bills, dual book account system and wrong tax rates. Praising the innovative initiatives of the department, he said that the average time limit of GST registration has been reduced from 13 days to 2 days.

In the meeting, the officials informed about the recent large actions and recovery of tax evasion amount by the GST department. It was informed in the meeting that due to the actions taken by the department, the tax revenue of the government is continuously increasing.

It is noteworthy that GST offices have been established in all 33 districts of the state, due to which the work of tax collection and GST services is being edited with transparency and timeliness.

Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Chief Minister’s Secretary Mukesh Kumar Bansal, Chief Minister’s Secretary Rahul Bhagat and Commissioner Commercial Tax Pushpendra Meena were present in the meeting.
