Ayatlah ali khamenei: Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei first appeared in a religious program in Tehran on Saturday (July 5, 2025) after a conflict with Israel. According to reports, Iran had hidden Khamenei at a safe place due to a 12 -day air strikes in Israel. Iran’s military head, nuclear experts and many other big officials were killed in these attacks.
According to Reuters, the Iranian state TV released a footage, showing Khamenei entering a hall, where the big gathering was celebrating Ashura, which is the most important day of the Shia Muslim calendar.
Khamenei was underground during Israeli attacks
Khamenei was wearing his traditional black clothes and a large number of crowds were seen shouting slogans. This is the first public presence of the supreme leader since the war began on 13 June. During the first few days of the air strikes, Khamenei avoided any personal appearance and during this time messages already recorded were issued.
Khamenei appeared to avoid public programs due to increasing security concerns during Iran Israeli conflict. During this period, his speeches which include his annual address to mark the major religious rituals, was aired through a video already recorded. Iranian officials later clarified that the decision was taken in view of the security protocol amidst growing regional tension.
The Israeli conflict, which is characterized by air strikes and secret activities, has given rise to concern for large -scale regional instability. At the same time, the Iranian regime has continued its strength in view of the ever increasing international pressure.
