If you are dreaming of a government job in railway, then this news is no less than a good news for you. Indian Railways is going to recruit more than one lakh posts soon. The Ministry of Railways itself has confirmed that in the years 2025-26 and 2026-27, about 50-50 thousand candidates will be given jobs in Railways.
Railway recruitment roadmap ready
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has carried forward the process of recruitment in the last few months. According to the ministry, since November 2024, computers based tests (CBT) have been conducted for 55,197 vacancies under 7 separate recruitment notifications so far. About 1.86 crore candidates from across the country have participated in these examinations. After the completion of the process of these recruitment, candidates will be appointed for more than 50,000 posts in the year 2025-26.
1.08 lakh posts were announced in 2024
Railways had announced recruitment for a total of 1,08,324 posts in 2024. Half of these posts will be appointed in 2025-26 and the remaining 50,000 posts will be filled in 2026-27. The Railway Ministry has told in its press note that 12 notifications have already been issued under this scheme and this process will continue.

More than 9000 candidates have got jobs
Railways also informed that in the first quarter of this financial year, appointment letters have been given to more than 9000 candidates. That is, the railway is gradually working towards filling all its vacant posts.

Railway Recruitment Board examinations are considered one of the largest competitive examinations in the country. These include the number of candidates in lakhs and conducting the examination requires accurate scheme and intensive coordination.
