West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday (July 10), while attacking the BJP, alleged that she was targeting Bengali migrant workers in Jai Hind Colony in Delhi and spreading its anti -Bengali agenda outside the state borders.
In a strict post written on social media platform Facebook, Mamata Banerjee said that she is very upset with the news of harassment and forced eviction of Bengali residents in Vasant Kunj area of the national capital.

Trinamool Congress President and West Bengali Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee alleged that the BJP -ruled administration has denied the basic facilities like water and electricity in an attempt to displace the Bengali residents. He said, “I am very upset to hear the shocking news of harassment from Jai Hind Colony in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. This colony mainly resides in Bengali people, who have built as part of the unorganized workforce of the city. ”
He said, “His water supply was allegedly cut on the orders of the BJP -led government. Electric meters were confiscated and suddenly the electricity was cut off the day after tomorrow. The residents of the colony also claim that the Delhi Police stopped the private tankers of their invited water with the help of RAF personnel, for whom the residents of the colony had paid. ,
BJP is behaving like infiltrators with Bangla speakers- Mamta
The Chief Minister said, “Despite another violation from Delhi Police in December last year, the matter is being forcibly evicted despite being under consideration in the court. If the basic rights of shelter, water, electricity are being crushed, then how can we claim to be a democratic republic? ”
He warned that such action is similar to the identity of Bangla -speaking Indians and criminalization of the language. He accused the BJP of treating Bangla -speaking people like intruders in his own country.
More than 1.5 crore migrant in Bengal living with honors- Mamta
Banerjee said, “There are more than 1.5 crore migrant laborers in Bengal who are living with respect. But this cannot be said about the BJP ruled states, where Bengalis are being treated like intruders in their own country. Speaking of Bangla does not make any Bangladeshi. These people are as much citizens of India as anyone else, no matter what language they speak.
Mamta Banerjee pledged to raise the matter on every possible platform
He alleged that after failing to dominate politically in West Bengal, the BJP is now targeting Bengalis in BJP -ruled states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh. He announced that Bengal would not sit silent. He also pledged to take this matter on every possible platform.
Bangla -speaking people detained in Jharsuguda district of Odisha
The development came to light after a political dispute on Wednesday (July 9, 2025), when the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal accused the BJP -led Odisha government of illegally detaining Bangla -speaking migrant workers in Jharsuguda district despite legitimate documents. The Odisha police immediately rejected the allegation, citing the lack of verification papers.
