Alert for heavy rain has been issued from the capital Delhi, UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, Bengal to Bihar. Many parts of Delhi received heavy rainfall on Sunday (July 13, 2025). Due to this, heavy waterlogging was seen in many parts of the city. NCR cities Sonipat, Kharkhauda, Jhajjar, Farukhnagar, Sohana, Palwal, Nuh, Aurangabad, Hodal (Haryana), Baghpat, Khekra, Pilkhua, Nandgaon (UP) Bhiwadi, Tijara (Rajasthan) received heavy rains till 9 pm.
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert on Monday (14 July 2025) for rain. IMD said that due to the clouds coming from the south-east, there is a possibility of heavy rains in Delhi-NCR. Apart from this, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rains in eastern Rajasthan and western Madhya Pradesh.
Delhi’s Environment Minister expressed happiness when the wind cleared
The air of Delhi also remains clean. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi’s average air quality index (AQI) was 79 on Sunday. The air at this level is considered satisfactory. Delhi’s Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has also expressed happiness over the reduction of AQI in Delhi.
Alert of heavy rain in UP, Rajasthan and other places
The Meteorological Department said that light to moderate rains are likely in West Bengal, Sikkim, Northeast India, Bihar, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and parts of Rajasthan on Monday. Light rains are expected in eastern Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Central Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of extremely heavy rains at different places in East Rajasthan till July 15 and on 14 and 15 July in western Rajasthan. There is a possibility of heavy rains at different places in Jammu and Kashmir Himachal Pradesh till 17 July. Heavy rains are expected in Uttarakhand till July 19, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, western Uttar Pradesh and eastern Uttar Pradesh on July 17 and 18.
