What will be the new fare?
The fare of the initial 2 km will now be Rs 36. After this, you have to pay 18 rupees for every additional kilometer. Earlier, the initial fare was 30 rupees and 15 rupees per kilometer.
In which areas will the new fare be applicable?
This new fare will be applicable only within the BBMP limit. That is, it will have an impact on the passengers coming to the municipal border of Bangalore city.
Meter re-verification required
Under the new order, it will be mandatory for all auto rickshaw drivers to re-verify and stamp their meters by 31 October 2025. Along with this, it will also be necessary to clearly show the increased fare on the meter display.
More than meter trust demand
In Bengaluru, many auto drivers still decide the fare with oral negotiation, not by meters from the passengers. In some cases, fast-tick meters are used, in which the meter moves faster and the fare shows more than the actual distance.
