The Asia Cup comes under the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), but it is clear that no decision can be taken on this tournament until the talks are held between BCCI and PCB. The Asia Cup is scheduled to be held in September 2025. A big decision regarding the Asia Cup may come out in the meeting to be held in Colombo.
Government of India ready for ASIA CUP
The Board of Control for Cricket in India had not clearly said about India’s going to the Asia Cup. The BCCI was waiting for the green signal from the Government of India. But now Mansukh Mandavia, Minister of Sports in the Government of India, said in Parliament that ‘India will continue to play with Pakistan in the international tournament, but the bilateral series will not be played between the two countries’.
ACC will not suffer heavy losses
This announcement of India’s Sports Minister has saved the Asia Cup organizing committee, which was still under considerable financial pressure. ACC will have the highest grossing high voltage matches in the Asia Cup from India and Pakistan. According to reports, no one was joining the BCCI meeting to be held in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka on July 24, but now after getting permission from the Government of India, there may be a big announcement on the Asia Cup soon.
