YouTube hype: YouTube has started its new creator-centered feature Hype in India, which has brought a great opportunity for small and emerging YouTubers. The objective of this feature is to give video creators more recognized and to make them a place in the list of YouTube’s top hypmed video.
What is Hype feature?
Hype is a tool through which viewers can hyple their favorite videos. Giving hype means promoting the video so that it reaches more people and can join the top 100 Hyped Videos of YouTube. This feature is especially available for the YouTubers whose subscribers are less than 5 lakhs.
How does it work?
- A video can be hyped within the first seven days of uploading.
- Every user can hyple a video for free three times a week.
- On receiving the hyp, the video gets points and the more points, the higher the place on the leaderboard.
- This leaderboard appears in the Explore section of YouTube which includes the top 100 hyped videos of the country.
If a video reaches up this list, then he can also get a chance to be featured on YouTube homepage, so that he can get more views.
Small creators will benefit
The special objective of this feature is to promote YouTubers who are new or whose subscriber base is small. On giving the hyp, such creators get bonus points, which can lead to their video faster in the leaderboard. YouTube says, “We want every creator to get equal opportunity.”
According to Google, when this feature was tried in Türkiye, Taiwan and Brazil, Hype was used more than 5 crore times in just four weeks and more than 50,000 channels benefited from it.
What else is new?
Apart from Hype, YouTube has launched many more creator-friendly features in 2024 such as automatic dubbing, so that the creators can translate their videos into different languages. Jewels and gifts, which viewers can give creators as a digital gift during live streaming. Idea, title, thumbnail and script can be suggested from Inspiration Tab, where creators AI.
How to use Hype?
When a video is uploaded, the option of Hype will be seen near the LIKE button below it. Viewers can hype the video from there. This feature automatically activates and the creator does not need to do anything separately. Overall, this new feature of YouTube is a big step towards bringing forward small creators and taking their hard work to the audience.
