Team India suffered a major setback on the first day of the fourth Test, when Rishabh Pant went out of the field. Pant retired after scoring 37 runs off 48 balls. Rishabh Pant was hurt in the 68th over of the match. Pant wanted to say reverse sweep shot off Chris Woakes, but he was completely missed on this full toss ball. The ball went straight to his right foot shoes. Pant was in pain, immediately came on the field. Pant took off the shoe and saw that light blood was also coming out. After some time, swelling also started appearing on his leg. He was unable to walk, after which the ambulance was called to the ground and taken out.

On Rishabh Pant’s injury, BCCI, while giving updates, said, “Rishabh Pant suffered an injury to the right leg while batting on the first day of the Manchester Test. He was taken from the stadium for a scan. The medical team of BCCI is keeping an eye on his progress.”

England won the toss and decided to bowl first. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul gave the team a good start. Both shared a 94 -run partnership for the first wicket.
