One youth was killed in an encounter between police and suspected drug smugglers on Thursday (July 24) in Jammu city, while the other person was detained. The deceased has been identified as Parvez. According to the information, the police team was chasing suspected smugglers in Mandal area of Satwari police station area.

In fact, the police team had received information from drug smugglers, after which they started chasing them with their team. Police also started firing on the other side in Mandal area under Satwari police station area. One youth was killed in retaliation firing from the police, and another was detained. The injured person has been admitted to the Government Medical College. Senior police officers reached the spot and started investigating the case.
Family members’ protests in hospital
After the death of Parvez in counter -firing by the police, his family and a large number of local people reached GMC Hospital and started protests. Outside the GMC hospital, chaos became a atmosphere of Tafri. The family was angry. He has accused the police that Parvez was innocent and he was killed in a fake encounter.
