A major case of security lapse has come to light from Kannur Central Jail in Kerala, where Govindsamy alias Charlie Thomas, who was convicted of raping and murdering a 23 -year -old woman, escaped by cutting bars. However, it was a matter of honor that within a few hours the Kerala Police arrested Charlie Thomas again.
Govindasamy alias Charlie Thomas was placed in the High Security Cell of Central Jail. Despite this, he escaped by cutting the iron bars of the closet. According to the jail police, when the staff found his cell empty on Friday (July 25, 2025), there was a stir in the entire jail premises and a search operation was started by the jail administration in a hurry.
Divyang Govindasamy alias Charlie Thomas is habitual criminal
Please tell that Divyang Govindasamy, a resident of Tamil Nadu, is a habitual criminal, against which many cases of theft and robbery have been registered before. In February 2011, the Kerala police arrested her in the rape and murder of a 23 -year -old woman, after which the court sentenced Govindsamy alias Charlie Thomas to life imprisonment.
Arrest again after a few hours of escaping from jail
As soon as Charlie Thomas got information about absconding from Kannur Central Jail, the police took fast action and was arrested again in a few hours. In such a situation, the police is now investigating whether an internal person had a role in this scheme to escape from jail, if Govindasamy was not able to escape from the jail and the name of the people also comes up, then action will be taken against those accused.
