Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in a high -level review meeting of the Department of Energy that the power system in the state has now become a measure of the confidence of the public and the sensitivity of the government. He told the officers in two words that tripping, overbilling and unnecessary cuts will no longer be accepted in any situation, it will have to be improved.

The Chief Minister was told in the meeting that in June 2025, Uttar Pradesh successfully met a record 31,486 MW demand. During this time 16,930 million units of electricity were supplied. The ever -increasing humidity and temperature increased consumption unexpectedly, despite this an average of 24 hours in urban areas, 21.5 hours at tehsil level and 18 hours in rural areas.

Displeasure over tripping

The Chief Minister expressed deep displeasure over the frequent complaints of tripping and directed that each feeder should be technical investigation, weakened places should be identified and improved immediately. He said that where needed, the capacity of transformers should be increased immediately so that the situation of overloading is not made. He also directed that the real complaints received from the field should be resolved in a timely manner, so that the public gets relief.

Essential for response at every level

The Chief Minister told the officials of the Energy Department that there is no shortage of resources, the government has provided a record budget to strengthen power generation, transmission and distribution. In such a situation, negligence at any level will no longer be tolerated. After knowing the status of supply of their areas from all Discom’s managing directors, the Chief Minister directed that accountability should be fixed at every level.

Appeal to speed up smart meter process

Speaking on the billing system, the Chief Minister said that “Every consumer should get a clear and accurate bill at the right time every month. Complaints like falls or overbling break the public belief and damage the credibility of the department. It should not be in any situation. It should be increased.

Ghatampur and fun projects will be completed

Reviewing the power generation, the Chief Minister was told that the total production capacity of the state is currently 11,595 MW, including projects of thermal, hydropower, renewable and central schemes. After the completion of new projects like Ghatampur and Meja, this capacity will exceed 16,000 MW in the next two years. The Chief Minister asked to ensure continuous monitoring of these projects and timeliness perfection.

Emphasis on connecting farmers with solar energy

Regarding the agricultural sector, the Chief Minister instructed to rapid separation of agricultural feeders and to connect the farmers with the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana. He said that the task of connecting all tubewells with solar energy should be on priority, so that farmers can get permanent relief and reduce dependence on traditional power.
