The path of admission to the prestigious management institutions of the country has now opened. The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 notification has been released. Through CAT, 21 IIMS and other renowned management colleges across the country are admitted to other post graduate management courses including MBA. If you are also dreaming of studying with IIM, then now is the time to move forward with complete preparation.
CAT 2025 applications will start from 1 August
The registration process for CAT 2025 will start from 1 August 2025 and interested candidates will be able to apply by visiting the official website iimcat.ac.in by 13 September 2025. The exam will be conducted on 30 November 2025 as a computer based test (CBT) in three sessions.
Admit card and result date
Candidates will be able to download their admit card from 5 November to 30 November 2025. The exam results will be announced in the first week of January 2026. The examination will be conducted in about 170 cities across the country and candidates can select 5 examination centers of their choice.
Qualification and cutoff
For application in CAT 2025, the candidate should have a minimum of 50% marks in Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university. Candidates of SC/ST and PWD categories have been given 5% discount in it. After the written examination, candidates will also have to pass Group Discussion (GD) and interview round. However, the selection process of each IIM can vary, which can be checked by visiting the website of the institute concerned.

Registration fees increase
This year the registration fee of CAT has also been increased. Candidates of General, OBC and EWS category will have to pay Rs 3000, while the fee for SC, ST and PWD category has been kept at Rs 1300.

The major IIMS through CAT 2025 includes institutions like Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Kozhikode, Rohtak, Ranchi, Raipur, Trichy, Kashipur, Udaipur, Amritsar, Sirmaur, Bodh Gaya, Sambalpur, Nagpur, Visakhapattanam, Jammu and Shillong.
