On Monday, 3 terrorists, including the mastermind of the Pahalgam attack under Operation Mahadev, were trapped by the army. The attack in Pahalgam in Kashmir shook the country. After which India drove the operation vermilion and dropped the bombs on the locations of PoK and the terrorists present in Pakistan. There was an atmosphere of tension between Pakistan and India since the terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
But now the important missions related to the security of the country will no longer be limited to only news or defense documents. NCERT is soon bringing a special educational module on Operation Sindoor, which will give school students practical and fact -based information on terrorism and national security issues. This initiative is being done especially for higher classes (class 11-12), which can also be expanded even to the middle school (class 6-8).
What is operation vermilion?
Operation Sindoor India’s Army was an accurate military action on May 7 in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. In this operation, the Indian Army targeted terrorist bases in border and demolished the structure of terrorists in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK).
Why is this module important?
NCERT says that this case study based on Operation Sindoor will help students understand how a country takes strategic decisions in response to terrorist attacks. It will also expose the synergy between defense, diplomacy, security agencies and the government. This module will not be like normal books, but is designed as an independent and contemporary case study.
There will also be discussion in Parliament
Special discussion on Operation Sindoor is also proposed in the monsoon session of Parliament. In this sequence, NCERT is preparing teaching material on this subject. It is being told that this module is almost ready and will be released soon.
Another step towards new NCERT books
Under the National Education Policy 2020 and the National Curriculum Fund 2023 (NCF), NCERT has already released new books for classes 6 and 8. In these books, Indian heritage, experience based education and contemporary issues have been given special attention. Now by bringing a module on Operation vermilion, students will be encouraged to think and understand from the perspective of national security.
