India sent help under Operation Brahma
India has started Operation Brahma to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Myanmar. Under Operation Brahma, India has carried out the first consignment of 15 tonnes of relief materials including tents, blankets, sleeping bags, food packets, hygiene kits, generators and essential medicines, keeping in mind its Neberhood First and Act East Policy. South Korea has talked about the help of US $ two million through 2 international institutions.
Indian Navy ships INS Satpura and INS Savitri moved towards Yangon port with 40 tons of human assistance. New Zealand has announced a two million New Zealand dollar help to Myanmar. China and Russia have also sent their rescue team to Myanmar.
Children died due to school collapse
According to the BBC report, 12 children and teachers have died due to the collapse of a school in Mandle area. The rescuers said that about 50 children and six teachers were missing after the building collapsed. He told that we have removed only 13 bodies. Red crosses and social support groups are helping in defense. Due to the earthquake, houses and shops in the town also collapsed.
Myanmar appeals to help
