Assembly elections are going to be held in Bihar in the next few months. Earlier, the Election Commission of India launched a special intensive revision (SIR) campaign of Bihar Voter List. The initial phase of SIR has been completed. Now on 1 August 2025, the draft voter list of Bihar will be released.
Draft voter list will be released on Election Commission website
Chief Election Commissioner of India Dnyanesh Kumar said that the draft voter list of Bihar, Bihar will be published on Friday i.e. August 1, 2025. It can also be checked by visiting the official website of the Election Commission.
All 38 District Election Officers (DEOs) of the state will also give its physical and digital copies to all recognized political parties in all 38 districts of Bihar.
1 month time to register objection
He said that Bihar Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) and 243 Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) will invite any voter of that constituency or any recognized political party of Bihar to add any missing eligible voter’s names, remove the names of the eligible voter, remove the names of the unqualified voter or give any kind of reforms and objections in the draft voter list.
The Supreme Court had made important remarks on Tuesday (July 29, 2025) regarding special intensive revision (SIR) in Bihar. On the possibility of 65 lakh voters being excluded from the voter list being prepared by the Election Commission, the court said that if there is any situation of collectively excluding, the Supreme Court will intervene.
Opposition parties allege that SIR will be denied the right to vote in the absence of documents from SIR. The opposition said that the local election machinery in Bihar can be manipulated by the ruling BJP and the JDU alliance for its benefit.
