In Uttar Pradesh, there is a continuous speculation about the new BJP state president. But, it is no longer announced, now it is discussed that Uttar Pradesh will get a new leadership only after the election of BJP’s national president. One reason for this is that the ‘quorum’ of selection of presidents of more than half the states for the election of the national president has been completed. The election of the state president has been completed in 28 states of the country. On the other hand, political analysts claim that keeping in mind the new strategy of Samajwadi Party’s PDA Pathshala, the BJP has now started churning again.
When will BJP be decided on state president?
A senior BJP official said on the condition of anonymity, “The President of Uttar Pradesh will be elected only after the election of the national president.” He also said that “the leaders involved in the race of the state president have been told in Delhi that go to Uttar Pradesh and work, work will be known.
It is difficult to claim who will be the state president of UP right now, because the party decides not just keeping the immediate situations in mind, but on the basis of far -reaching equations.
BJP has a total of 98 organizational district units in 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. In the second fortnight of March, former Union Minister Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey, the organizational election in -charge of BJP Uttar Pradesh, announced the district heads in 70 out of 98 units, after which the speculation intensified that the state president would be announced soon.
The process of election of the state president is completed only after elections in more than half of the districts in BJP. However, even after four months, the party has not reached any conclusion yet. The list of BJP state council members has not been released yet.
Many leaders in BJP involved in state president’s race
A BJP official said that the members of the State Council are voters for the election of the state president in the party and they also do the work of the proponent and supporter, so their selection is necessary to complete the election process.
The names of many contenders for the post of president in Uttar Pradesh are in discussion. Since the assembly elections in 2027 and panchayat elections are due in 2026, the party is focusing on ethnic and regional equations for the selection of the Speaker. At the same time, BJP is also eyeing the strategy of the main opposition party Samajwadi Party.
Sources associated with BJP say that the Samajwadi Party has intensified its PDA (Backward, Dalit and Minority) campaign and now the SP is also organizing PDA Pathshala, so a section of political analysts feel that BJP can give priority to backward classes in the selection of its president.
JMM founder Shibu Soren dies, many leaders including CM Yogi, Mayawati, Akhilesh expressed mourning
The names of these backward and Dalit class leaders are also discussed
Sources close to the party say that BJP can once again turn to backward classes for its new state president. Since 2016, the post has been the leader of both Brahmins and OBC communities: Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey (Brahmin), while Swatantra Dev Singh and current president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary are from the OBC community.
At some time, the pair of Kalyan Singh (Lodh caste) and Brahmin leader Kalraj Mishra, who came from the Other Backward Classes (OBC), had strengthened the BJP in Uttar Pradesh, but in later days the Lodh caste never got a chance to leadership.
Political experts claim that this time the BJP is the strongest claim of Lodh Samaj for the leadership of Uttar Pradesh. For this, the names of State Government Minister Dharampal Singh and Union Minister BL Verma are also coming out. If someone is selected among these two leaders, then the consent of the family members of the late Kalyan Singh will also be necessary for him.
On the other hand, Vinay Katiyar, Om Prakash Singh and Swatantra Dev Singh have led the state unit of BJP in Uttar Pradesh from Kurmi caste coming in the backward classes and the name of Swatantra Dev Singh for this post is still in discussion. Apart from these, the name of Rajya Sabha member Babu Lal Nishad and former Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti from Nishad society is also in discussion.
These leaders from Brahmin society join the race
If the BJP selects the state president from the Brahmin society, then many names including former Deputy Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha member Dr. Dinesh Sharma, BJP State General Secretary and MLC Govind Narayan Shukla, Gautam Budh Nagar MP Mahesh Sharma and former MP Harish Dwivedi are in the list of claimants.
Due to the constant weakened mass base of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), the BJP is eyeing the Sonkar caste, especially from Purvanchal to West, on the Dalits. This is the reason that the name of former party MP Vidyasagar Sonkar for BJP state president is also under discussion. Many other leaders of non -Jatav castes of Dalit society are also involved in the race for the post of president.
When asked about the election of BJP state president, when asked by the senior state spokesperson of the party Harishchandra Srivastava, he said that ‘BJP’s organizational election is held after the booth, mandal and district after the state president is elected, in which members of the state council participate.’
Srivastava said, ‘Elections of more than half of the districts required for the election of the state president have been completed. The election officials nominated by the central leadership will declare the program, according to which the election of the state president will be concluded.
