Rivers are in spate in Varanasi, after which people of not only coastal areas but also residents of residential areas are now affected. People are seen affected due to the rising water level of Varuna in the district and rural areas. Regarding this, preparations have been made by the Varanasi district administration to provide relief to them. The water level of the main river Ganga is still increasing continuously in the district. Till the report is received, the water level of the Ganges was recorded at 72.06 meters.
46 flood relief camps set up in Varanasi
According to the information received by ABP News by Varanasi district administration – flood situation is being seen due to increase in the water level of Ganga and Varuna. Even today, the water level of the Ganges is increasing. The water level was recorded at 72.06 meters until the report is received, which is 80 centimeters above the danger mark. 53 villages of Varanasi and 24 wards and neighborhoods are affected due to floods. Due to the rising water level, 6631 people of 1443 families displaced and went to other safe places including relief camps. Water police personnel including NDRF are fully ready for necessary assistance. Apart from this, 1898 hectare crop of about 7037 kiso has been affected in the district.

Due to the rising water level of the Ganges, now the people of the residential area are also in the grip of flood. In front of Varanasi, water has reached the coastal areas including Ghat, Assi, Nagwa Gangotri Vihar. At the same time, if we talk about Varuna coast, Nakki Ghat, Salarpur, Konia, Hukulganj and other areas are also affected by floods.
