Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met the disaster victims of Dharali at Uttarkashi PWD Guest House. After meeting the CM, one of the victims, Mahendra Chauhan said that my sister, brother -in -law and nephew are stranded there. His phone switch off since the disaster tomorrow.

Earlier on Wednesday, August 6, the Chief Minister surveyed the flood -affected area by helicopter. He told, ‘Rescue work is being done fast. Teams of Army, Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force and State Disaster Response Force have reached the spot. About 70-80 people have been rescued … a road is blocked. District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police level officials have left on the spot. This is a challenging situation because it is still raining there.
Dhami said that food and medicines have been arranged and 160 police personnel including three Superintendent of Police officials have been deployed to distribute ration and monitor it. He said that three senior officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) have been made a nodal officer for relief and rescue operations.
