Bihar: 3 teenagers flowing in the fast flow of Chandan river, SDRF team in search

3 teenagers have drowned in the sharp edge of Chandan river near Sinhanan village of Rajaun block area of Banka district. These three are minor cousins, in search of which the local administration and SDRF team are engaged. Due to the incident, there is a lot of silence in the entire village and the family is in a bad condition by crying helplessly.

How did the incident happen?

According to the information, today, 4 teenager Vijay Tanti’s son Kanhaiya Kumar (15 years), Dilo Tanti’s son Amarjeet Kumar (15 years), W. Tanti’s son Rajesh Kumar (14 years) and Sinku Tanti’s son Alok Kumar (14 years) left their house without telling anyone. They went to bathe in the Chandan river near the Durga temple in the village. The four started floating in the river and crossed the river and went to the other side of the Chandan river.

During the swimming, Alok Kumar retreated due to the sudden flow of water. At the same time, Kanhaiya, Amarjeet and Rajesh started trying to move forward despite the strong currents of the river. During this time, all three of them were swept away in the sharp stream. Alok somehow reached the banks of the river and made a noise, causing people to come to the spot.

Villagers and administration engaged in research

Hearing Alok’s voice, nearby shepherds and people of the village reached the spot. As soon as the information was received, the local youth also got into the river and started searching for the three, but even after hours of hard work, there was no success.

Meanwhile, JDU Block President Raghavendra Singh Kushwaha reached the spot and informed the police including Rajaun CO. On the orders of CO Kumari Sushma, revenue employee Sunil Kumar Mishra and ASI Sanjay Prasad of Rajaun police station reached the spot along with the police force. Seeing the strong flow of the river and increased the water level, he called the SDRF team.

Local MLA Bhudev Chaudhary also reached the spot with his supporters and instructed the CO to find the children as soon as possible. He also asked the District Magistrate of Banka to intensify the rescue operation by talking on the phone.

SDRF team engaged in rescue

Long after the incident, the SDRF team reached the spot and started investigating, which continued till late evening. However, due to the strong currents of the river, no clue of the three children was found yet. Due to the night, the rescue team had to return.

According to the villagers, this end of the Chandan river goes very long and towards Bhagalpur. Children are likely to be washed away in strong current. He told that the three families are completely broken by this incident and there is an atmosphere in the village.

The family says that Kanhaiya Kumar and Amarjeet Kumar Singhanan are the 10th grade students of the High School, while Rajesh Kumar studies in 9th grade.

CO Kumari Sushma told that the SDRF team has put full force. However, no child was detected till late evening, so the rescue operation has been postponed at night. Rescue operations will be started again on Monday morning.
