The film featured strong actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Madhuri Dixit, Sangeeta Bijlani, Sonam, Anupam Kher and Amrish Puri. Tridev was the third highest -grossing Hindi film of the year, which was just behind “Maine Pyaar Kiya” and “Ram Lakhan”, who was a strong hit between the critics and the audience. In 1990, at the 35th Filmfare Awards, it took three awards.
