ECI Fact Checked: ‘Wrong and Cosheral’, Election Commission made fact checks of opposition’s ‘vote theft’ claims, shared evidence

The Election Commission (ECI) on Monday (August 11, 2025) investigated the facts of opposition leaders, who held a huge protest against the Election Commission under the leadership of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. The Commission has dismissed the allegations of vote theft as factually wrong.

The Election Commission posted a screenshot posted on social media by Rahul Gandhi on X, in which he thanked the leaders of India Block to attend the protest march. The Election Commission called it misleading.

Election Commission reply on allegations of ‘vote theft’
This reply of the Election Commission came only a few hours after the Election Commission office took out the allegations of ‘vote theft’ by about 300 opposition MPs. The MPs have accused the Commission of connivating the BJP of helping their election goals. The police had stopped March in the middle, due to which many MPs including SP chief Akhilesh Yadav jumped and moved forward. Many major opposition leaders were also detained during the uproar.

While rejecting the allegations of fraud in the voting, the Election Commission has shared a document of steps taken to ensure transparency while preparing the Bihar Special Intensive Revision (SIR) plan. Opposition parties have strongly objected to this and alleged that irregularities have been made and the names of voters have been intentionally removed at the behest of the BJP.

The Election Commission also shared links to video evidence of representatives of several political parties, including Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Left parties (major constituents of Bihar Grand Alliance). Emphasized that pure voter list strengthens democracy.
