New Zealand explosive batsman Tom Bruce is now going to start a new chapter in his cricket career. He has decided to play for Scotland by saying goodbye to the New Zealand team. He will debut for Scotland in the Cricket World Cup League-2 series to be held in Canada later this month. This series will start from 27 August.
Family engagement with Scotland
Tom Bruce’s father was born in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. Due to which he has got the right to represent the Scotland team. Bruce also played for the Scotland Development Team in 2016, after which he turned to New Zealand team.
Career in New Zealand
Tom Bruce has been playing domestic cricket for Central Districts since 2014. He has played 17 T20 matches for New Zealand between 2017 and 2020, with his strike rate of 122.36. In these matches, he also scored two brilliant half -centuries. Bruce made headlines during the 2015-16 Super Smash tournament, where he scored an explosive innings of 223 runs for Central Districts. During this time his strike rate was 140.25. Due to his brilliant performance, he was selected in the team for the T20 series against Bangladesh.

Bruce said, “My family has a very old history associated with Scotland and I am proud that I will be able to represent Scotland. Five years ago I got a chance to play for New Zealand which is a good fortune for me, now I want to contribute to the scotland team on behalf of Scotland team on behalf of Scotland team globally. The Scotland team will play four matches against Canada and Namibia in Ontario, Canada from 29 August to 6 September. These matches will be played at the Maple Leaf Cricket Club in King City near Toronto. In such a situation, the presence of Tom Bruce will prove to be strong for the Scotland team.
