Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who appeared in this case, had said that the central government is taking steps towards giving state status to Jammu and Kashmir, but currently there are some strange circumstances. He reminded that the assurance of restoring state status after the elections has already been given, but in view of the current situation, why this question is being raised is not clear.
