Four people died due to gas leak in a pharmaceutical company in Tarapur-Boyer Industrial Area of Palghar district of Maharashtra. On Thursday (August 21), between 2:30 and 3 pm, there was an incident of gas leaking gas from nitrogen reaction tank at Medley Pharma Company in Plot No. 13 located in Boisar Industrial Area. A total of six people were affected in this accident. All were admitted to Shinde Hospital, where four people died during treatment, while two are in critical condition and have been admitted to ICU.
Identity of dead
The deceased have been identified as Kalpesh Raut, Bengali Thakur, Dheeraj Prajapati and Kamlesh Yadav. The two people who are in critical condition have been identified as Rohan Shinde and Nilesh Hadle.
What did the head of the District Disaster Management Cell say?
Vivekananda Kadam, head of the Palghar District Disaster Management Cell, said that the company’s nitrogen gas leaks between 2:30 pm and 3 pm, affecting the employees working there. Six workers were immediately rushed to the hospital, where four died at around 6:15 pm. He said that two others have been admitted to the ICU of the local hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. Along with this, he told that all the affected employees were taken out of the plant and taken to the hospital.
