Foxconn: Foxconn’s subsidiary company Yuzhan Technology has called back 300 Chinese engineers from its unit in India. This is the second time in recent times when this Taiwan company has taken such a step. Sources aware of this development told ET that this has happened at a time when the relationship between the two countries is slowly improving.

Earlier on July 2, there were reports that Apple’s supplier company FoxConn had to recall about 300 Chinese engineers and technicians from its own manufacturing unit in India. Now the same number of engineers have been withdrawn from the unit of Yuzhan Technology in India.
Yuzhan Technology is creating a display module assembly unit in Tamil Nadu. It is costing Rs 13,180 crore. In the information given to the stock exchange in May, Foxconn said that it would invest $ 1.5 billion in its Yuzhan unit as the company is shifting the manufacturing of iPhone out of China among America’s threats to impose high tariffs.
Foxconn gave information to the government
A source said, Foxconn has informed the government that he has been asked to send back all the Chinese migrant employees who were brought to the Unit of Yuzhan Technology in India to install component ecosystem and fatty. This time the company has to send back 300 engineers. Apart from these, 60 more engineers were coming to India, they have also been refused.
Why are engineers being called back?
In a conversation with the government, Foxconn in talks about the possible causes of China’s action, but it has not been made public yet. It is estimated that this may be China’s strategy to prevent the export of advanced equipment used in transfer of technology and manufacturing.
The iPhone 17 is to be launched in the coming months. In such a situation, this move of Foxconn can affect the assembly work of the iPhone in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka’s manufacturing unit. However, India says that this will not affect the production of mobile in the country.
Both are getting closer amid American pressure
Amid the increasing pressure of American tariffs, these days, two Asian countries India and China relations are getting softening. Recently, China’s Foreign Minister Wang E visited India. During this, he met his counterpart of India S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
During this time it was agreed between the two countries to maintain peace and stability on the border. China was also again ready to supply rare meaning magnets and fertilizers to India. Both India and China agreed to re -trading through the border, promote investment and resume direct flight service soon.
