Online Money Gaming Law: The Government of India has enacted a new law on online money gaming platform, under which these online money gaming services will be banned. In today’s time, the craze of online gaming had increased significantly. Many cricketers of the Indian team were also seen advertising these online money gaming platforms.

On the jersey of Indian players, the name of online gaming platform Dream 11 was printed. Many players including MS Dhoni Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Suresh Raina have advertised for these gaming platforms. In this regard, ED also sent summons to former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina.

What is punishment in online money gaming law?

The online money gaming bill has now been approved by the President of the country, Draupadi Murmu, due to which this bill has now become law. Under the new law, people who provide such games will have to pay a three -year sentence and a fine of Rs 1 crore. With this, whoever promotes these online money gaming platform, will also be sentenced to two years in jail. Apart from this, a fine of Rs 50 lakh will also have to be paid.

Rohit-Virat will have to go to jail?

With the arrival of a new law on online money gaming, the question arises that they will also have to serve the jail sentence. The answer is- no, because the law on online money gaming applies today, 22 August, 2025. At the same time, these new rules will also be applicable from today. From today onwards, if any person makes such games or promotes them to play, then he will have to go to jail and also have to pay the fine.

Online gaming platforms will be closed

After the law is enacted on online gaming platforms, many companies including Dream 11 and Winzo have announced that the services of these platforms will now be discontinued. Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said in Parliament about this bill that ‘people are losing their life -long earnings due to this money gaming’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also said about this bill that ‘this bill will encourage e-sports’. PM Modi further said that ‘This bill will also protect the society from the harmful effects of online games’.
