On the occasion of Ganeshotsav, on Wednesday, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray along with his family reached the house of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray ‘Shivatirtha’ and visited Lord Ganesha. This meeting is not only important, but also from political ways.
Decades later again
Uddhav and Raj Thackeray were on different political paths for a long time. But on the pretext of Ganeshotsav, the two families have come together again. In political corridors, it is being seen as ‘homecoming of the Thackeray family’. After decades, the closeness between the two families seems to be increasing.

BMC election rests on elections
This meeting has taken place at a time when the 2026 Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections are near. BMC is considered to be the mini assembly of Maharashtra politics. Apparently, the Thackeray family can change political equations. Opponents also keep an eye on this meeting.
Came together in July
Significantly, in July this year, Uddhav and Raj Thackeray were seen sharing the stage together after about 20 years. In that rally held in Worli, both of them opposed the decision of the state government to make Hindi mandatory in schools. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had to withdraw this decision due to public pressure and protest.
Raj Thackeray said in the rally that the importance of Maharashtra is more than any kind of politics. After about 20 years, he and Uddhav Thackeray have come together. He also said that Devendra Fadnavis did the work that Balasaheb Thackeray could never do.
This meeting during Ganeshotsav indicates to re -connect family relationships. But how deep its effect in politics will be, it will be clear in the coming time. At present, it is certain that this closeness of the Thackeray family has created a stir in the politics of Maharashtra.
